It all started with a dream

Even from a young age, Bo’s fascination with wine and viticulture was awakened, but it was not until he retired that he took the step to realize his dream. Here on Ivö, a place with a unique microclimate and a history that stretches far back, he planted the first 25 vines in 2013 on his son Petter’s farm – thus laying the foundation for the vineyard that today is Ivögården Mat & Vingård.

The vineyard has now grown to around 1,000 vines, and Bo’s passion has become a family business. Together with Bo, Petter and his daughter-in-law Therese now run Ivögården Mat & Vingård, where knowledge, craftsmanship, and love for flavors permeate everything they do. Therese is the farm’s sommelier and winemaker, Petter creates masterpieces in the kitchen, and Bo takes care of the vines in the vineyard. Together, they create experiences that unite food, wine, and tradition in a place where dreams take root.

Our small vineyard spreads out just beside Ivö Church – where the reeds whisper and Ursula’s spring has been bubbling since ancient times. It is said that the place is sacred. That Saint Ursula once blessed the land. That the spring held something unusual – at one time, people even believed that the water could turn into wine. Perhaps that is why the church was built here, down at the water’s edge, instead of on the hill? Perhaps the stillness, the light, the soft water attracted them... Today, our own sparkling wine bubbles in glasses here, made from grapes grown just steps from the spring. Fresh, bright, and with a touch of magic.

There is something truly special about sitting here – with the church tower in view, the vines all around, and a glass in hand.

The grapes of the Wineyard
  • Solaris

    Solaris

    Planted in 2015. A green grape that produces fruity and aromatic wines. Excellent pairing with fish, shrimp, and chicken.

  • Regent

    Regent

    Planted in 2014. A blue grape that is deeply red in color and produces a very aromatic wine.

  • Rondo

    Rondo

    Planted in 2014. A blue grape primarily used for producing red and rosé wine.

  • León Millot

    León Millot

    Planted in 2024. A blue grape with a dark color and soft tannins. Pairs well with lighter meat dishes accompanied by fresh sides, such as asparagus or roasted root vegetables topped with a bit of lemon.

    Tastes of the Wineyard

    Guided tour, dinner, and wine tasting in the restaurant

    Join us behind the scenes at our vineyard and experience the aroma of grapes, soil, and oak barrels. During a guided walk, you will learn more about our grape varieties, cultivation philosophy, and the journey from vine to bottle. The experience concludes in our restaurant with dinner and a tasting of selected wines from Ivögården – in the right setting, with room for conversation, curiosity, and taste.
